With the aging population, cataract has become one of the most common eye problems in Hong Kong. However, the waiting time for cataract surgery in public hospitals can often be up to 4 years. In light of this, Human Health Group launched the 'Eye Caring for the Elderly', donating cataract surgery quotas which worth over HK$2 million. These quotas are distributed through Lok Sin Tong to grassroots individuals affected by cataracts, enabling them to undergo cataract surgery free of charge at an earlier stage.
During the event, two cataract recovery patients who had successfully undergone surgery were invited to share their pre-surgery experiences and treatment processes. The medical team of Human Health also shared relevant health information about cataracts, helped attendees to understand the causes, symptoms and the importance of early detection and treatment.
Human Health Group is honored to assist those in need in the community through this donation, allow grassroots individuals to receive cataract surgery at early stage. We express gratitude to Lok Sin Tong for their support and assistance. Human Health Group wishes to make contribution to society through this caring initiative, enabling more grassroots individuals affected by cataracts to regain their vision early and embrace a brighter life, thereby alleviating the life challenges brought by cataracts as soon as possible.
