Gov-funded Programme
Human Health Medical Center provides free government-subsidized colorectal cancer screening services for eligible persons in 2025-26.
According to the Department of Health, colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in Hong Kong. In 2022, there were 5,190 newly diagnosed colorectal cancer cases, and colorectal cancer led to 2,270 deaths. Colorectal Cancer screenings can identify people who have colorectal cancer before they present with symptoms or those at higher risk of colorectal cancer, and enable them to receive early treatment, thus significantly improving prognosis. Removing colorectal adenoma during a colonoscopy can prevent the adenoma from developing into cancer.
The 2025-26 government-funded colorectal cancer screening program has started on January 1.
As long as you meet the following qualifications, you can go to all Human Health medical centers for free testing:
1. Born between 1949 and 1975, holding a Hong Kong Identity Card# or Certificate of Exemption from Registration; and
2. People who have no symptoms or high-risk factors for colorectal cancer (such as family history), and who have not had colorectal cancer screening or examination within the specified period.

The colorectal cancer screening program is funded by the government. Eligible persons can undergo a stool immunochemical test for free.
If the result is positive and services such as polypectomy or colonoscopy are required, doctors will only charge a small fee to the participants. Additional fee of $1,000. Relevant screening can identify asymptomatic colorectal cancer patients or high-risk individuals early, allowing them to receive early treatment, greatly improving the cure rate.
Many general and specialist doctors at Human Health have registered to participate in this program and can provide colorectal cancer screening, colonoscopy and polypectomy services to eligible persons. Human Health's general medical center also accepts on-site registration. For details, you can search for and call the Human Health medical center near you through the "Find Us and Booking" function in the upper right corner of this website.
