Gov-funded Programme

1. What is the “School Outreach (Seasonal Influenza Vaccination) Programme”?
Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent seasonal influenza and its complications. To increase influenza vaccination coverage among school children in Hong Kong and assist schools in arranging outreach vaccination services, the government implements the “School Outreach (Seasonal Influenza Vaccination) Programme” every year.
2. Which schools can participate?
The program covers secondary schools, primary schools, kindergartens, kindergarten-cum-child care centres, and child care centres that are interested in joining the service.
According to the Centre for Health Protection, some schools did not take part in last year’s school outreach vaccination program or had yet to confirm vaccination dates. It is therefore recommended that all eligible schools actively participate in the program to ensure that students receive influenza vaccination protection as early as possible.
