Gov-funded Programme

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent seasonal influenza and its complications. To increase seasonal influenza vaccination (SIV) uptake amongst school students and to facilitate schools in arranging outreach vaccination, the Government launches the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach Programme for all schools including secondary schools, primary schools, kindergartens, kindergarten-cum-child care centres, child care centres, special schools and special child care centres.

According to information from the Centre for Health Protection, some schools did not participate in the seasonal influenza vaccine school outreach program last year or did not provide confirmed vaccination dates. It is recommended that all eligible schools actively participate in the program to provide timely protection through influenza vaccinations for schoolchildren.
